Finally, I can rest and have more sleep today if I so wished coz I've had a busy weekend, on saturday my mother-in-law was celebrating her 70th Birthday at my back garden, she wanted to have a BBQ party so I was playing the hostess and glad that it was a success.
Then on Sunday, I was invited to attend a friend's baby shower, she was due to giving birth to a baby boy next month, I met more Indonesian people there and most of all I had loads of indonesian food that I miss so much. It was fun but tiring as well, it was the first time for me and abit awkward at first but I think I enjoyed it. For an introvert like me who doesn't know how to mingle or socialize often, I sometimes feel abit left out or feeling I'm not in the circle but rather standing outside the circle and observing but I did find a little courage to join in the conversation and had abit of a laugh. But that heels are killing me! it did make me look tall from the rest of them too!
Really, Time Flies! today I'm celebrating my 1st wedding anniversary, hubby is so sweet as to take me out for lunch at "Something Thai" restaurant in town, bought me a bouquet of yellow and red roses and big card with lovely words that brought tears to my eyes. He also took me to Dorothy Perkin's shop and bought me some clothings, how sweet! Thank you darling, Love ya!
We've been talking alot through facebook, I must say Facebook is Awesome, I found lots of my high school friends, my neighbors, my cousins and relatives and of course my brothers and sisters plus nieces and nephews hehehe. Anyways, I would like to wish my dear sister of mine a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! may God bless you with happiness and good health always!
I phoned her awhile ago in time when she was about to go out to have a birthday lunch, we talked about my problem of getting out of UK to Netherlands to visit her that might be cancelled coz for one, I have to apply for the visa in London and two...I don't think I can afford it if my hubby wants to tag along hehe.
So we decided that my sister is going to be the one who is coming to visit me in the UK in August, I'm so excited about that as we will go to London, yeah pathetic isn't it that I've been living in the UK for a year now but haven't yet step a foot in London, the capital city of England!
Anyways, my sister is celebrating her 41st Birthday and I gotta say, she's not getting older but getting sexier hehehe. Love ya sis!
....in the UK that is, after the back garden has finished, finally...we could celebrate it by having a barbeque, of course the guests of honor would be hubby's parents who contributed alot in paying the gardener. It was also a celebration of my 1st year in the UK, tomorrow would be my first time stepping down from the plane last year in the UK, how time flies quickly!
Anywayz, just a quick update as I'm very tired and just wanted to upload the pics i've taken. We had duck spring rolls for starter, barbequed prawn with peppers and marinated chicken for main course and raspberry ice cream for desserts and lots and lots of gin and tonic with lemonade drinks.
That's it...going to rest now...
I haven't been really active in blogging for awhile now, been busy and I'm having a stiff neck right now...to cut a long story short, My easter was kinda miserable, lying on the sofa with hot water bottle on the neck and nothing much. Anyways hubby bought me an easter egg, so sweet of him to do that and his parents also made us an easter cake, I have been lazy taking pics lately, just feeling not in the mood, but hopefully I'll be blogging with a vengeance soon.
Hope everyone's easter was better than me :)
Truly, this is the first time I've heard there's such thing as Red Nose Day in the UK hahaha, basically it's for charity, some celebrities are going to do funny stuff for charity and the little red noses cost about £1 for one so I thought, why not?
This is the first time I celebrate my hubby's birthday in the UK coz last year we celebrated it in Jakarta. His birthday was on friday, he took the day off from work and took me out to the Pub, we had drinks there, had a really relaxing day, took a walk at the farmer's market on saturday and popped by his parent's house to pick up his birthday gift from them, they gave him a new jacket. I gave hubby a set of coffee mug with whisky and chocolates as he likes to drink coffee with whisky sometimes.
He chose a Creme Brullee Cheesecake for his birthday, nothing fancy but he enjoyed it, he does love quiet and relaxing moments, so we spent most of the times at home, watching a new dvd we bought at sainsburys and did alot of cooking.
well I'm too early saying it but I gotta post this as me and hubby were invited by his parents on sunday to have lunch together and she told me about the tradition of Pancake's Day that was suppose to be on Tuesday, i think she said hehe. Unfortunally hubby's dad had an urgent matter to attend coz when we arrived at their house, he wasn't there so my mother-in-law entertained us the whole day. She made pancakes for us after we had baked beans, minced beef and dumpling stew with steamed veggies and potatoes. I absolutely love pancakes! I might have a go making it myself this week.
I think we stayed at their house for almost 5 hours and then took our leave around 4pm. Hubby is going to have his 44th birthday on Friday, I'm trying to plan something for him, not sure what to give him as a birthday gift as I'm not working yet so I am not earning any money and if I did take some money from him that means he's giving himself a gift, hehe so I'm thinking of making him something, we'll see then.
